Sunway Startup and Idea Fest Begins Tomorrow, Showcasing Over 150 Startups and Innovations

Kathmandu. The two-day ‘Sunway Startup and Idea Fest 2025, in association with TingTing and powered by Sasto Tickets’ is set to begin on Thursday, November 13 (Kartik 27) at Anupam Foodland, Battisputali, Kathmandu. The festival will feature the participation of over 150 startups and innovations from all seven provinces of Nepal.

Jointly organized by Living with ICT, ICT Foundation Nepal, and Squad of Changemaker, the event will showcase products and services related to software, robotics, drones, AI technology, rockets, and aerospace. The fest, which will run for two days (Thursday and Friday, Kartik 27 and 28), will also feature drone and robotics competitions along with a job fair.

More than 50 semifinalists from various categories of the ICT Award 2025—including Startup, Product, Rising Star, and Social Innovation—will also take part in the exhibition. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe and vote for these innovative products and ideas.

According to the organizers, the event aims to promote young startups, students, and innovators working across the country and to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship. Entry to the fest will be free of charge, offering interested youths an opportunity to explore creative technologies and innovations firsthand.

Additionally, special product demo and networking sessions will be held for investors interested in funding participating startups and products.

The fest is expected to draw a large presence of entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, policymakers, senior government officials, investors, and students. Organizers believe the event will serve as a valuable platform to understand the current landscape of Nepal’s startup and innovation ecosystem and to highlight the cutting-edge technologies being developed by Nepali youths.

Sunway College, known for providing international-level education with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), will also exhibit several AI projects at the fest. AI-based product TingTing is the “In Association” partner, while Nepali startup Sasto Tickets has joined as the “Powered By” sponsor. The event will also provide opportunities for startups to seek investment and for IT students and job seekers to explore internship and career options.

The ICT Award 2025, regarded as one of the most prestigious recognitions in Nepal’s ICT sector, is currently undergoing the selection process across 15 categories, with over 700 online nominations received this year, according to the organizers.
